Finding the gift in every child

dgFRoG is a non-profit organization Finding the gift in every child through community initiated educational programs and events in and around Downers Grove, Illinois.

Finding the gift in every child

The Downers Grove Friends of the Gifted and Talented, also known as dgFRoG, is a not-for-profit organization founded 28 years ago by a group of parents who wanted District 58 to provide special services for their gifted children. The current role of dgFRoG is to provide enrichment classes and activities such as chess tournaments for all Downers Grove area children. In the past, FRoG also co-sponsors the annual Science Fair with School District 58 as well as provides a support group for parents interested in gifted education.

Our organization is a member of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC) and also the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). These organizations enable us to keep abreast of the needs of gifted education at the state level and at the national level. FRoG also utilizes memberships in IAGC and NAGC to provide resources for interested parents. Some of these materials are available at our Super Saturday classes at the monitor table. Feel free to stop by and acquaint yourself with some of the materials we have to offer.

dgFRoG is a non-profit organization and is not affiliated with any school district

Anyone interested in enhancing the academic and educational opportunities for children in our area are invited to attend our meetings and to become members of dgFRoG.  Please e-mail us for more information.
